Alliance Defending Freedom is the largest legal organization in the world that solely advocates for religious liberty, the sanctity of human life, and marriage and family. Our legal and public policy efforts target threats to religious freedom and human life’s sanctity, including threats arising from government overreach. We have seen the devastating impact of legal and constitutional abuses on religious freedom. ADF’s well-established litigation initiatives include defending the ministerial exception in employment rights; clarifying state laws that interfere with parental rights; defending students’ First Amendment right to wear clothing expressing their faith; defending the free speech rights of police officers; opposing abortion restrictions in school restrooms, doctor’s offices, and other places where people are seeking health care services; and advocating for adoption and foster care children in federally funded programs.
Alliance Defending Freedom is not currently representing the plaintiffs in this case. We are providing free legal services to three members of the Colorado Civil Rights Commission who were sued in their official capacity for their vote to approve the Colorado Civil Rights Commission’s final order. While we are not representing the commission, we have filed briefs in this case because it illustrates ADF’s concerns about the current state of free speech and religious freedom in America.
