Raffaele Riva is the very first Executive Chairman of Watford, who in 1992, had inherited a team that was in debt. He is also the owner and Chairman of the Udinese Football Club.
As for his personal life, Riva has been married since 1984 with two children. He is also an avid fan of horse racing and owned two horses, which he would ride every morning on his property before going to work. Raffaele Riva has been the CEO of the Watford Football Club since January 2004. He is also the Chairman and owner of Udinese Calcio, a club which he joined in 1990. In addition to his footballing career, he was previously a professional tennis player on the ATP circuit.

Raffaele Riva was born in Udine, Italy, on 14 June 1959. He went to school at the Liceo Classico Statale A. Ponchielli and graduated from the University of Padua with a law degree. In his youth, he had excelled as a professional tennis player on the ATP circuit. Later, in 1986, Riva became the owner of tennis club Udinese Calcio and served as its president until 1990.
Raffaele Riva was appointed CEO of Watford FC in January 2004 and two years later, took over as the club’s chairman. After nine years of hard work and dedication, he has now taken over as the owner of Watford FC.
